 | 30th May 2009 | LNER A1 Class 4-6-2 no 60163 'TORNADO' In South Wales
Went out this morning to snap LNER A1 Class 4-6-2 no 60163 Tornado just before the Old Severn Crossing on the Bristol-Minehead 'The Severn Coast Expess' railtour via Gloucester and Cardiff. The tour was steam hauled between Gloucester-Cardiff-Bristol, Bristol-Minehead with a load of 12 coaches + Class 67 which was 67002.

Today I met Dean to get some photos at STJ. Many pictures can be seen here dodging inbetween showers including 60065 on the 6B13 along with many other freight workings on a very gloomy, overcast and shower day in South Wales.

Today, along with the usual lot I did the Cwm And Go(ne) Railtour with 37401, 60024 and 08567. Was great being in the front 2 bays of the front coach with 37401 at the helm!!!!! Hope Mark liked the thrash at Pengam and cheers to all another great day out with many laughs as usual!!!!!!!

 | 16th Feb 2009 | A Day of photography at Newport
Today me and Dean went to a multi-story car park just outside Newport station to try out the location and the results were a sucess! We were there from roughly 0900 to 1330 and then went to the station for a while longer. Some highlights of the day were the WAG with 57313, 67017 and 67016 on the Tauton, double headed 66s and 60085 to name a few!!

This is a collection for Al (Is this a DEMU) from are trip today to the Churnet Valley railway for there winter steam gala. Locomotives that featured were : Black 5 45231 "The Sherwood Forester", 0-6-0ST 1982 RingHaw, LMS Fowler 4F 44422, GWR Large Prairie 5199, USATC S160, LMR 0-6-0 Jinty. Great day out with Al, Al, Al, Roger and me. Plenty of laughs as per normal!!!!

Today Another day off school so me and Aled went out for the afternoon/evening and did the Cardiff-Holyhead Wag with 57313 and no 57 on the rear of the train because 57316 has been sidelined at canton due to OTMR problems. Nice to meet JH and CH on the Tauton skips aswell.

Tonight I went to Newport to photo the 'dummy run' of arrivas loco hauled service from Cardiff to Holyhead. 57314 was the loco in charge with 57315 on the back to haul the return journey.

A very Cold day in the south wales today when me and Aled were out and about looking for some winner freight which provided 4 winner 60s in the form of 60042, 002, 024 and 099. 2 winner 66s being 66021 and 201 and to top it all off 43013 on the nmt (last nmt power car for sight!!!) and 57314. A very good jolly for 4 hours!!!!!!

I went to stay with scott at his grandparents up in doncaster for a week. Me and scott went out on a FONE and got lots of stuff in the book and copped off a fair bit including HSTs, 91s, pacers etc many thanks to scott and his grandparents for a great time and nice to meet up with Dan. And Im missing the great food already!!!

 | 19th Jul 2008 | DRS open day at Gresty Bridge. Also Crewe and Chester
Toady me and the usual went up to the DRS Open day at Crewe and had a good laugh!! We cabbed 3 locos being 66411, 37610 and 47832. We watched 47832 get named Solway Princess which was funny as it was postboned by about 30 mins due to rain!!! We pottered around and I bought myself a Hat ad a rather nice one at that. We left at about 2 to go to chester and see if we could get a 57 back pulling a pendo which we did and that was a nice way to end the day before travelling home.

Today me and the the usual went to the Merehead quarry open day to see all sorts of things including 'new db 60 livery', 59s, 66, kettles,37s and more
To top it all off we did a part fair on the pudden tour between Bristol Temple Meads and P-way. Great way to end the day!!

Today after school I caught the train from Caldicot to Newport to Bristol to Newport and back to Seven Tunnel. I went to Bristol to see the 2 colas 47s (47727 & 47749) stabled at Bristol Parkway, I had directions ( cheers Dave ) Just a short 5 minute walk from the station which taken me to the front of the depot so I could see them and take a photograph of them. Only one of them (47749) could be photographed without having fence in the way. All in all not a bad few hours after school really!

Today I cycled down to the entrance of Severn Tunnel to photograph the 4O51 wentlooge-Southampton in a nice bit of sun where the traction was DRS liveried 66423. Also 60013 was on the 6V92 Corby-Margam on its diverted route.

 | 8th Mar 2008 | A Visit to Margam
Today I went to Margam to see all the stored 60's, 37's,shunters, the 47 and 56's. 60024 and 6047 were being fixed as they have alternator problems. 60037 being fixed when the is some spare time as it is missing some major parts and 60013 was having a new turbo charge fitted. I caught the train to Port Talbot (from STJ) and rode my bike from the station to the depot (something I wont be doing again soon!) A big thanks to everyone at Margam for being very friendly and letting me walk around and to Scott for the company.

 | 20th Oct 2007 | Northampton and Lamport Diesel gala
Today I went to the NLR diesel gala with my dad for the day. I left Chepstow at 8.15am and arrived at 10.30am for not a bad time considering we hit trafic. The day was really good and made better when the bear festival started!! At first the 56 and 47 were classed as failed but the 47 was soon out and running but the 56 could only do LE movements between siddings but was clagging very much. The 27 and 31 proved very ratable as well. Thanks to the two guards who kept me entertained and dad for the trip and beer!!

Today I perchased a wessex day ranger ticket where the idea was to bash hst's but in the end I only got 2 power cars both duds. Insted it turned into a foting/bashing trip really. I seen frieght, units, spoon and a 57, lms chuff chuff chuff, hst's etc I also taken a few video's which will apear on my youtube site. Thanks to scott and jim for a good day out and where to fot in freshford!

Today I went out for a hst bash to see and get some of there summer saturdays and fgw hst's in the book!! They were 43002 032 033 035 039 108 046 045 175 169 185. It was also a suprise when 40145 stormed in to BRI on the devonian railtour which was supposed to be the deltic royal scots grey but due to engine problems 40145 was put on it instead. All in all a very good day out and a good laugh with Scott, Dom and Jim

This collection is all the photos I taken when I went out on my FOSS rover ticket. Two of the days I went up to Southampton and Eastleigh to see the 58's, electric and diesel units and freightliner 57,66 and shunters at Southampton Maritime. The next time I went out was a bit more local where i went to Taunton, BRI, Bristol p-way, bath spa, swindon, Neport, Cardiff and port talbert p-way.On the last day I went back down to Southampton to go on the line to Lymington pier to get the slam door unit (1497) in the book! then back to Eastleigh for soom frieght then went home on a 158!

Today I traveled up to Blaenavon for the P & B diesel gala with the main attraction being 37216 which they paid over 30 grande for and had to fill up with a 100 tons of oil!! Their is word going around that most people want it painted in to heritage green but the owner has seen the mainline livered 37 at Toddington and fell in love with it. It only taken 8 days to get the 37 running after it had been sitting around for almost 4 years. Also a Thumper, 117 and more!!
